Reality

Since I no longer think of Reality as Reality,
what reason would I have to think
of Dreams as Dreams?

~~~ Japanese Master and Poet, Saigyo~~~
what is reality?
a thought
a momentary creation spanning infinity
an infinity moment
a jewel sparkling in the ocean of creation
a refined experience
a season of a creative work
a world in a dewdrop
a heartbeat
a loving thought
laughter echoing for ever
peace
freedom
wildness
bliss
the moment that takes your breath away
a kind gesture....
these
and so much more...
4 Large Quakes Hits Ring-of-Fire
July 15, four large quakes have occurred along the ring of fire. The first occurred in the Vanuatu Islands where a 6.3 quake hit about 8:30 PM local time.Followed by a 6.1 quake on Fox Island, Aleutian Islands ? Alaska. The third quake hit Japan measuring at 6.7 magnitude. Several injuries and damage have been reported. Also a small tsunami has occurred. The forth quake hit Venezuela with the USGS reporting another 6.7 magnitude. Location with respect to nearby cities: 18 km (11 miles) SW (223 degrees) of Guiria, Venezuela.
So far, the worst of this series is Japan. The 6.7 magnitude earthquake rocked Japan's northwest coast on Monday, injuring at least 20 people, knocking over homes and triggering a series of small tsunamis. Several smaller aftershocks jolted the region.
Black smoke was seen pouring from the nearby Kashiwazaki nuclear plant, which was automatically shut down in the quake. NHK reported the smoke was caused by a fire in an electrical transformer, and that no radioactivity had been released.
The Meteorological Agency issued tsunami warnings along the coasts of Niigata Prefecture, warning of small tsunamis in other coasts, but no significant damage was expected.Waves as high as 50 centimeters were believed to have hit the coasts of northwestern prefecture (state) of Niigata.The tremor swayed buildings in Tokyo and was felt in wider areas including northern and central Japan.
All I can say at this point is I do not believe this series of quakes is over. I do not have any scientific evidence that a 5th quake will occur, but since seismic activity has been too quiet, tectonic plates have not had the typical release needed to minimize large activity. (Mitch Batross)
UPDATE 1
The second of two large quakes have hit Japan. Over 800 reported injured, 8 dead and counting. The largest nuclear plant in the world has been damaged with radiation leaking. Further information regarding the radioactive leak is hard to access. Some suggest an 'order of suppression' has been mandated.
UPDATE 2
July 17 a 6.0 magnitude quake hit northern Tanzania, after this another large quake hit south of the Fiji Islands measuring a 6.3 magnitude
UPDATE 3
July 24, a 7.0 magnitude quake hit Indonesia & Sulawesi. Tsunami warning was recended.
UPDATE 4
7.3 magnitude quake hit at approximately 11:15 (PDT) Wednesday, August 1, 2007 Location:Vanuatu- Tsunami Warning Called Off -(NOAA) Based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
Arachnophobia
a most interesting article!
when it feels like a fine cobweb has crossed your face don't dismiss it as a figment of your imagination!
IT'S every arachnophobe's worst nightmare: millions of spiders on the move, blanketing everything in cobwebs.The Gippsland flooding has triggered a spider population explosion of up to 30 species, which have taken to the air in the search for new homes. Australia's leading "spider man", the senior curator of spiders at Queensland Museum, Robert Raven, said the phenomenon was triggered by recent heavy rain, after the drought had postponed hatchings. "It's amazing stuff that is always a moisture-triggered event'' he said. Arachnids from up to five families, including money spiders, wolf spiders, water spiders, crab spiders and orb-weaving spiders are in a spin, producing silk, which catches the breeze and lifts them into the air."They are remarkable animals and they can get up into the stratosphere higher than planes,'' Dr Raven said.But when the air gets heavy, the web drops and they fall to the ground, covering everything in sight. After Age photographer Joe Armao stopped to photograph the shimmering gossamer of webs at Seaspray, near Sale, last week, he returned to find his car draped in webs, along with hundreds of culprits. Said Dr Raven: "The thing is, if they all stayed at the same spot, there would be no food and they would eat each other. "After floods you'll also get things like scorpions and centipedes that will float on the water and then get into houses because they are high and dry.'' Gippsland pest controller Peter MacManus said he had noticed that fences in the area were covered in cobwebs. "I have heard that some people were inundated with spiders after the floods, but in my business, you don't spray houses in the winter time,'' he said. The spiders are not the only creatures seeking shelter in houses. Mr MacManus said one Licola resident returned home to find that six snakes had taken up residence inside. http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2007/07/16/1184438159886.html?from=top5
Be aware
i received this info in an email today and thought it was worth posting on my blog.
This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.
Heart Attack
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the
intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.
A cardiologist says if everyone who reads this message sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this & Send to a friend. It could save a life.
2007 Perseid Meteor Shower August 12-13
The source of the Perseid Meteor shower is Comet Swift-Tuttle. Although the comet is nowhere near Earth, the comet's wide tail does intersect Earth's orbit. We glide through it every year in July and August. Tiny bits of comet dust hit Earth's atmosphere traveling 132,000 mph. At that speed, even a tiny smidgen of dust makes a vivid streak of light--a meteor--when it disintegrates. The shower is most intense when Earth is in the dustiest part of the tail. Perseid comets fly out of the constellation Perseus, hence their name. The best time to watch is during the hours before sunrise when Perseus is high in the sky whenever the peak or peaks fall around August 13, new Moon on August 12 creates perfect observing circumstances this year. For the Southern hemisphere the best time for viewing is 15h (3am) as this is the peak. I'm going to check my sky map, if I can find it, to locate where Perseus is.
...and so it is...
been thinking about the previous post about alpha brain waves and how "the tests, challenges and travails of daily life diminish your alpha waves below the natural levels"
looking at this I've come up with the thought that intuitively I have known this and have always chosen to focus on a specific point in order not to get sucked in to peoples melodramas and malicious gossip and by doing this have been able to observe at a distance, behaviour in a disconnected manner, just as an observer, hence being percieved by others as aloof (or what ever) but in reality very much into self preservation and with the space to think outside the square and live my dreams and passions without unwanted interference from either do gooders or those who deliberately go out of their way to destroy, and yes I have seen such people in action, or those who walk as living dead upon this earth~oblivious to everything.
I see the way of doing this as "disconnecting" from what ever situation it is and just watching without emotion. It's a case of seeing both sides of a situation and choosing for myself that which is most suitable but not entering into interaction on the matter, just stepping back and observing. This of course does not mean I do not live my life fully, it just means that I am selective about what I allow into my life and my ego doesn't actually enter into it (it's seething about this bit) but by working on this level the energetic connection is what brings into my life that which vibrates at the same frequency. The reason I know my ego aint a happy about this is because there are certain things that I want in my life (ego driven) that haven't happened and looking at this there is a knowing deep within me that even though I want it, it necessarily isn't for my highest good. What a bugger that can be!!~
So, I had decided quite some time ago, to live my life like there's no tomorrow, enjoy every second of everyday life with what ever experience comes along and prepare for an unknown tomorrow where I create my complete and total reality for me to live and share with kindred spirits and twin flame. ...And so it is...
Peak Performance
well, looks like I forgot to put something in this space, so here goes...
Operating at a higher level, is a description of an optimized mental state which most of us rarely experience. Although these levels of consciousness are highly productive and enjoyable, they have remained fleeting and often just outside our abilities to control, until now.
Dr. James Hardt is the founder of the The Biocybernaut Institute and has methods for expanding states of awareness. He expoundes on how alpha waves and the art of forgiveness affects our ability to access higher states of consciousness.
Forgiveness is a major theme of the Biocybernaut Alpha and Theta Training programs. Only one thing correlated with effective forgiveness, and that was "meditative prayer."
Now seeing the word "meditative" corelates to increased Alpha Brain Waves. When meditation is done correctly, it produces more Alpha Waves in the brain. So "meditative prayer" would have more Alpha Waves than any other kind of prayer. Meditative walking would have more Alpha Waves. Meditative eating would have more Alpha Waves, and so on. So only meditative prayer was found to be correlated with Effective Forgiveness so taking that the next step we can say that Alpha Waves are related to effective forgiveness. This helps explain the lack of effective forgiveness in today’s world, because people are so lacking in alpha brain waves.
The tests, challenges and travails of daily life diminish your alpha waves below the natural levels you would enjoy without what Shakespeare called "The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune."(Hamlet 3/1). Most people are "alpha wave challenged" in that they have far less alpha brain wave activity than would be ideal for them. And they have much less alpha brain wave activity than they are capable of having. Therefore people would also be "forgiveness challenged" because alpha waves are needed for effective forgiveness.
Ego would rather have a storehouse of unforgiven events in your unconscious that it can bring up into your awareness, at times of its choosing, to keep us off balance when trying to be happy, free, clear and more spiritual and more one with God in your life. So ego uses the 5 Hindrances (from Zen philosophy) plus Forgetfulness to prevent you from forgiving. Any forgiveness or transcendence that you achieve will reduce your ego’s control of you. Father Pierre Tielhard de Chardin, the famous French Jesuit philosopher said, "The True Self grows in inverse proportion to the growth of egoism."
So the unfortunate fact is that your efforts at forgiveness are continually undermined by your own ego as part of its program of keeping you under its control. Your ego does not want you to forgive because that will diminish ego’s control of you. Ego relishes the control it has when you are "blind with rage" or "numb with fear". However, if you are filling yourself with compassion and merging with the Divine Awareness, ego is being shrunk and it will go ballistic and act out to distract you from greater awareness of the Source of the Universe.
A Seven kind of day
well today is one of those special days.
I set my alarm for 7am so that I could put an entry on my blog at seven minutes past seven on the seventh day of the seventh month of the seventh year of the century.
The alarm went off at seven and I leapt out of bed and sprinted to the laptop, (well perhaps staggered, bumping into doorframe would be a more apt way of describing what I did) opened it and turned it on got onto "blogspot" and pressed new post only to find that my bedside clock was seven minutes slow and in fact it was already 14 minutes past seven. And now I've checked and it is in fact 15 minutes past seven. Totally bombed out.
Bugger!!!
Well, regardless, I have put my new post on at 7 (14 which is double 07)am on 07 day of 07 month on '07 year.
Enjoy the day!
The Natural Cycle of Climate Change
Ancient Greenland was green. New Danish research has shown that it was covered in conifer forest and, like southern Sweden today, had a relatively mild climate. Eske Willerslev, a professor at Copenhagen University, has analyzed the world's oldest DNA, preserved under the kilometer-thick icecap. The DNA is likely close to half a million years old, and the research is painting a picture which is overturning all previous assumptions about biological life and the climate in Greenland. The results have just been published in the prestigious scientific journal Science.
Ten percent of the Earth's surface has been covered with ice for thousands of years. No one knows what lies beneath the kilometer-deep icecaps. These are the Earth's unknown and unexplored regions. But some have begun the exploration. Several projects under Danish leadership have been drilling through the icecap on Greenland, and collected complete columns of ice all the way from the top to the bottom. The ice has annual layers and is a frozen archive of the world's climate."I wonder, if there could also be DNA down there", thought Eske Willerslev, who is the world's leading expert in extracting DNA from organisms buried in permafrost. His thinking was that perhaps he could reconstruct the environment of the past.
Ice-core samples of ancient sediment
The icecap itself is comprised of pure ice, but the lower sections are mixed with mud from the bottom, and it was this mud that Eske Willerslev wanted to research.
Update
thought I should put an update on my blog.
We've been having very wet, cold and windy weather. For the first time that I can remember the ground is actually wet and not like rock. Today I planted out some conifers, a pencil pine and a native conifer looking tree whose name I don't know but i have always wanted to have one growing at my place and now I do.
The chooks have been off the lay for at least two weeks totally but today I got 2, yes thats two eggs from my 12 chooks. Well, I shouldn't call Fluffy a chook because I don't think that she's ever laid an egg, she's sort of a pet. The seven brown hens are the good layers and so is the small white hen. Not sure about the big Suffolk girls and the Plymouth, well she sure looks like a hen, but you know... OK, guess which one's Fluffy?
A couple of weeks ago we were snowed in and I was going to post a photo just didn't get around to doing it so today is the day.The first photo is snow on the road to Queanbeyan. Looks like I can't find the photos, will post them when I get a hold of them.
