Extreme solar cycle starting April 2008

Science Community Prepares Emergency Services and Citizens for Coming Solar Cycle

by Mitch Battros - Earth Changes Media

Several reports, analysis, and latest research statistics have been released over the last 7 days telling us of the coming solar cycle and its potential damaging consequences.

It is known as Cycle 24 and is expected to be as much as 50% stronger than its predecessor. Most solar scientists agree Cycle 24 began on July 1st 2006 when the first sunspot distributed a 'reverse' magnetic field. Over the last several months, the sunspot and solar activity have been extremely mild. This is known as 'solar minimum'. From this point on, solar activity will begin to ramp up with more significant activity becoming noticeable by the end of this year.

To present a frame work of just what "50% stronger" might look like, lets go back to Cycle 23. In this cycle we witnessed sunspot counts into the 400's. The prediction for Cycle 23's 'apex' or maximum issued by NASA was 150. The count had more than doubled. We also witnessed the largest solar flare every recorded on November 4th 2003 know as the "Halloween Flare". This solar flare and following CME was so large, it literally pegged the needles on all gages. It buried all the instruments which measure magnetic flux and charged particles. It literally shocked the science community.

At the time, the measuring instruments to measure the strength of a solar flare/CME and its effect on our (Earth's) magnetic field only went to 9. Until this day, an X-9 was the largest flare recorded. On November 4th 2003 a solar flare and following CME (coronal mass ejection) exploded just as it began rotating over the western limb of the Sun. If it had been just 48 to 72 hours earlier, the flare would have Earth directed and we would have experienced a direct hit. The strength of this event measured an X-45, of which such strength had never been witnessed or anticipated. Even to this day we can only speculate the damage it would have caused to our power grids, satellites, GPS, and any number of devices which depend of communication or directional satellites.

I was there right in the middle of it and I have never forgotten the exhilaration of the moment. I have never experienced such a moment in "live" radio as this one, and probably never will again. As the event was unfolding right in front of our eyes, I had Dr. Ernest Hildner, Director of the NASA/NOAA Space Weather Center on the phone doing an interview. At that moment the solar flare exploded and the information was coming in as we were talking. Hearing Dr. Hildner saying "oh my gosh, the instruments are off the charts. I've never seen this before". We were getting first hand information from the world's hub on space weather. Nothing, and I mean nothing hits the news services without going across Hildners desk. Earth Changes Media was in the right place; at the right time and we have never stopped perusing the most recent cutting edge breaking news since.

You can hear this breath-taking interview on our "Audio Archives" page and select the year 2003 and Day Nov.3rd http://www.earthchangesmedia.com/secure/olderaudio.php

Dr. Hildner reminded us of the luck we had by this sunspot region just passing over the western limb before it exploded. Even with this, an emergency call to the FAA was placed, and commercial and military aircraft was ordered to lower altitudes to avoid solar radiation hazards. The electrical charge was so strong, the 'Aurora Borealis' (northern lights) had dropped down to the 36 parallel. This would include Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Oklahoma. This is a very rare event. Usually the Aurora's are only seen in Alaska and occasionally Washington State, Wyoming, Montana, and Maine.

NOTE: The new 'Cycle 24' has been predicted to be up to 50% stronger. I don't think you need a scientific degree to understand the possible outcomes as a result of this escalation. In fact, the news of this prediction was 1st to broadcast on Earth Changes Media prior to any other news agency in the world. You can hear this exclusive announcement by going to our "Audio Archives" and look for "Dr. Mausumi Dikpati"

Problems

looks like I'm having difficulties with my photos on the entry about my place. I'm new to blogging and haven't been able to fix the dilema but I'll keep trying.

Bee mystery

Even though this is not something happening on my property because of the nature of the problem and the potential world wide repercussions I wanted to record this on my blog. I know in America it has been going on for some time now and scientists have not been able to work it out.
Perhaps they should be asking old time farmers for their ideas and checking old records if something like this has ever happened before and if it hasn't then looking at the smallest of changes that affect bees that they already know of. Tha't my thought on the subject.
Here's the article:

MORE than a quarter of America's 2.4 million bee colonies have been lost - tens of billions of bees, according to an estimate from the Apiary Inspectors of America, a national group that tracks beekeeping. So far, no one can say what is causing the bees to become disoriented and fail to return to their hives.

A number of theories have been posed, and many seem to researchers to be more science fiction than science: people have blamed genetically modified crops, cellular phone towers and high-voltage transmission lines.

Diana Cox-Foster, an entomologist at Pennsylvania State University, and Jeffrey Pettis, an entomologist from the US Department of Agriculture, are leading a team of researchers trying to find an explanation for "colony collapse disorder", the name given to the disappearing bee syndrome.

The scientists have been focusing on the most likely suspects: a virus, a fungus or a pesticide. Researchers have collected samples in several states and have begun doing bee autopsies and genetic analysis.

They have also been testing pesticides. The group of compounds they believe is most suspect is the neonicotinoids, commonly used to treat corn and other seeds against pests.

Changes

Today Shooky got his wish. He's been wanting to be in the bottom paddock where there's lots of space to run around in and he and Willy were given that opportunity today. Willy has been fretting somewhat but Shnooky then comes along and tells him a thing or two and ushers him along. They can be there for a while and enjoy the change of scenery and grass.

About my place

I decided it was time to introduce my menagerie of animals that live with me and my family on the "happy hunting ground" called Wamboin.

This is William, he's an alpaca, he looks very cute but Wiggles, the cat, is really in charge .

This is Shnooky, the sweetest donkey around. He comes when you call him especially if he knows you have some bread for him. But really he comes for a pat and just to be talked to.

This is the river when it's in full. Most of the time its just made up of little rock pools with a bit of water in them. I like to look at this photo because it reminds me of the way I want to see the river.

This is Mitzy. She is a dog of great importance. She guards the property from intruders and keeps foxes away from the chooks and breaks up fights between Shnooky and Willy.

Bounty

This land, this earth, is consecrated.

Humanities new relationships will blossom,
and the Earth will bring forth her blessing
and shower us with fruitfulness.
The oceans will rise up to greet us,
the mountains will bend low to bless us,
and the sky will illuminate our way.
Our days will be numbered as many,
and we will live long and fruitful lives under the southern skies.

"It has been decreed."

Step 1

Well, John came over and walked my land, with Mitzy in tow for a little while anyways. She didn't follow him up the very steep hill. Smart dog.
The land has a lot of shale which I knew in fact when it rains the rain is just absorbed straight through the crushed shale. There's a lot of the shale in the river which I was not aware of and there is some clover starting to grow by the river. Most interesting.
In the upper part of the property where the house is and up towards the road the land is very dry and has not sustained several plantings of different vegetation. There have been 3 or maybe 4 plantings that have not survived the harsh Wamboin climate, which is~very windy, cold and dry.
I have planted only the hardiest of plants which have been Manta Ray (native), olives (2 have survived), radiata pine, conifers (3 have survived), pencil pine (growing ok), prunus, bay laurel, walnut, Canadian Maple (well I can dream can't I?) Gingko (must always plant a gingko where ever I live) and mulberry. The Black wattles have been dieing off. The cotoneastas are happily growing but they were here before I came.
John thinks that the best thing to do is spray some "liquid life" onto this top paddock to get things going there, as in break up the soil and add nutrition and mulch.
He feels that this place can become very abundant within 18months. He will send me a full report in a few weeks time and then the experiment will begin.
More on my ideas of what I'd like to do here at a later stage.

A New Beginning

What does one say when one starts a new blog?
Hm....
Maybe write a poem, inspiration needed for that one...
hm....
I know, no need to tell me, I've worked it out myself!

Today (Wednesday before Easter) i'm having someone come over to my place to check my land.
I'm wanting to have a bounteous harvest of organic life just ooozing out of my land so I'm looking at implementing Keyline techniques in rejuvenation of the land.

More to say after the visit.
